The homeowners were ready to build a forever home on property near Shepherd MT, close to the family and community that mattered most to them. Their vision centered on an open main level, a private primary suite on the first floor, and dedicated bedrooms upstairs where their children could grow into the home. The final plan brought those priorities together.

Building in a rural setting often presents unique site conditions, and this property was no exception. Naturally high groundwater required the foundation to be strategically established at existing grade to protect the crawl space and ensure the home's long-term performance. While all geotechnical investigations and engineering recommendations were completed before construction, the saturated soils required thoughtful planning during excavation, framing, and site access. Once the structure was complete, additional engineered fill and careful finish grading were used to blend the home naturally into the landscape, creating an elevation that feels as though it has always belonged on the property.
